Years ago, Frank Jezioro, retired DNR biologist Jim Hammill, and I started Woodcock Limited. We were unable to give it the attention it deserved, but the reins were picked up by Joe Faux of Pennsylvania who took over the non-profit and has expanded it from Pennsylvania into New England and Louisiana and now into Michigan, the number one woodcock destination state.

The new state chapter is kicking off with a dinner March 28. The particulars are found below. The speaker is Michigan DNR biologist Al Stewart. Al is the number one woodcock (and grouse) biologist for the state and a dedicated setter man.
I’ll be there as well, but I hope you’ll overlook that and attend anyway.—Steve Smith

Be a part of conservation history, join us for the first-ever Woodcock Limited of Michigan dinner! As the #1 state for woodcock, Michigan is critical for habitat conservation.
