A Band Saw Trick
by John Valencic
Oftentimes, I need to make a clamp for something like a gate or a signpost, but after forming the clamp I find it rather cumbersome to trim with the bandsaw. My solution is to use a "prop" bolt for support under the clamp legs.
I then use the miter gauge to fasten the clamp and trim to length. It saves a lot of frustration when trimming this type of clamp or similar parts.
I hope others find this helpful.
